The Trumbull Troubadors Jr. Drum and Bugle Corps from Trumbll, Connecticut started life in the mid 60's with Mexican uniforms. Many of the youths came from around the southern Connecticut area. Spanish-Mexican music was played by the corps which traveled around the northeast United States competing in the Northeast Circuit, New York Circuit, Yankee Circuit, and the World Open in Lynn Mass. Where they came in 12th out of 55 corps across the nation.
Most of the instructors were from the Connecticut Hurricanes Sr. Drum and Bugle Corps. Jimmy Dugan, Art Hylwa, Bob Glovnia, and the Great Bart Healy were some of the well known instructors.
Some of the most remembered songs that the Troubadors played were, Cast your faith to the wind, South of the border, El Gato Montes, Perhaps, Entrance of the bulls march, Guadacanal March, and many others. The corps only had about a 10 year lifespan but was one of the top jr. corps in Connecticut and had a very special style of their own.
In 1968 they performed for the president of Mexico in Mexico City. To show his gratitude he donated new uniforms to the corps.
The Troubadors had one of the largest colorguards for their time (60's/70's). with over 45 girls.
